Introducing My Boyfriend!

My Boyfriend and I thought we would do a "Girlfriend/Boyfriend Tag" like blog post! As I like to share all my favorite things and trips and best parts of my life with you! And seen as though I do mention Sam a lot I thought you might like to know more about us as a couple so here we go....

1) Where did you first meet?
Sam and I at our Yr11 Prom
I first met Sam while we were at school together. On October 21st 2011 I had to go to a school play which we were asked to write a review essay on for drama. In one of the last scenes a young lad came on stage with loads of make up on, and a suit and the a mop of black straightened hair. However when he was about to say his line he looked at me and our eyes met then he forgot his line. On the way out the theater I walk past him again and our eyes met but we still didn't talk. Later I used the excuse of needing help on my essay to Facebook him and yeah that's how we started talking. Then as I has to leave to go to DofE later that week I just gave him my number (smooth move I thought) so we could carry on talking, and we didn't stop.

2) What was the first thing you noticed about each other?
His big brown eyes, they were really sparkly in the stage lights.

3) How long have you been together?
     3 years, 3 months and 18 days

4) Favorite memory together?
Ohh this one is tricky, hmmm I have two. Either our year 11 prom as he looked so smart! Or 2 summers ago when we were at a festival called Greenbelt when it was so sunny and we just had a nice time hanging out and having fun listening to music!

5) Last date you went on?
We went out for dinner on Friday, I've been very busy with revision and not had a lot of time to go out, but we managed to squeeze in a dinner date between 6th form and DofE. It was very quick but it was nice to just eat and chat together.

Emily, Sam and I in the festival mud

  6) What was the funniest thing your      boyfriend/girlfriend has ever done?
Sam is always doing funny things as he is always so    clumsy and often falling over. I cant remember a specific  thing that he has done that's funny, but the funniest  thing to do is tickle him as he is very very ticklish! He  giggles like a little girl!

 7) What was the nicest thing they have ever done        for you?
This may sound very simple, but I was having a very    horrible day at 6th form earlier this year and I was very  upset. However Sam noticed and brought me a flask of  tea and dairy milk chocolate at lunch time and it was  just what I needed!

8) What is the thing you find most attractive about them?
Sam had lovely dark hair, and eyes! But whats most attractive is that he is such a good listener whether I'm in tears or I'm ranting at something that's wound me up he will just sit there and listen.

9) If you could change one thing about them?
I love Sam as he is and he is great! But if i would choose one thing I would like him to spend more time on his clothes, I know he's not bothered about them so much but he looks lovely when he dresses nicely!

10) Whats the thing your looking forward to most as a couple?
Hmm well I'm off to University next year and I know I'm leaving Sam behind as he has another year of collage to complete, but I am really looking forward to going away as it will be so fun when Sam comes to visit me! To meet all my new friends and just to be reunited with him! As Alex Day said, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"

So there it is, I've not done this to brag at all I just though you all may be nosy like me and be interested in this kind of thing! If you wanna hear what Sam said about me you can find his blog post here: http://bit.ly/1nWHGWi

6 Ways I Cope With Exam Stress

I won't lie to you I'm not the calmest person when it come to exams and it is becoming more apparent as I'm getting closer to my 10 A2 exams. Yet I have been doing my best to keep my self stress free and calm. I can't promise this will always work as I know exams are very stressful but they may help a bit.

1) Having regular breaks in revision!
Non of us are robotic machines who can revise for hour and hours on end, so making sure you have little breaks throughout revision can mean that you will be more focused when you working as in the breaks you can get rid of all distractions. For example just take 10 mins every our to check you Facebook or watch a new YouTube video.

2) Test your self, prove you know it!
I find my self doubting that I know anything at all and actually this isn't true! To show this is do little test on my self, this can be little questions you find in a revision book or just recalling all you know about one topic. You will surprise your self!

3) Ask for help!
When you don't know something or are stuck on a particular question your may as I do build your self up in to a massive panic and decide to give up. However we all know that's not going to help if it comes up in the real exam, so go and ask your teacher! Its their job to get you prepared as much as you can for your exam and your grades reflect on them so they will often be happy to help!

4) Know your goals!
This one links to something I said in 3) that your grades reflect on your teacher. Although this means they will often do anything to help it also means sometimes they push you to get a higher grade than you think your able of or need to get. I have this a lot and I've had a lot of advice to just block them out! That's what I'm telling you to do to! just do your best do what you know you can and as long as you know you've done that you should be proud. Regardless of if you got what your teacher wanted to make them look better!

5) Eat and sleep well!
Sounds simple but is so important how can you expect to be able to produce your best work in exams or in revision if you have not fueled your body with good rest and healthy food. That's like expecting and Usain Bolt to run a personal best after no sleep and a packet of crisp, its not going to happen!

6) Do what you love!
I know in your world and my world right now exams are the only thing that matters, but in the big picture when you look back and see how sad and miserable you were its not going to be great! So don't be miserable! Go out and do things with your friends, go to any groups you attend, go out to the cinema and don't feel guilty you deserve a break!

I know that exam stress will always be there but its how you deal with it that is important so I hope this helps! Good luck with any exams you all have coming up!

Astronaut Ice Cream!

Hello to you all!

This week is going to be a little different! So last weekend I was given a gift by a youth leader who was running a night at the youth group I help out with about stars and space, as she did her degree in astro-physics!

So along with this she brought every one a pack of Astronaut food! I was given a pack of Neapolitan ice cream! This really interested me as I'm a big science geek myself, and as I'm doing dietetics at university food is also an interested in food. In fact my dream would be to design food for space so I was so happy when she gave me the ice cream!

This ice cream is freeze dried, which is the way astronauts have eaten their food aboard space missions since the early Mercury mission right up until NASA's Space missions today!

Now here is the geeky bit (sorry if you think this is boring)...

How is astronaut ice cream freeze-dried?

Freeze drying, or lyophilisation, removes water from the ice cream by lowering the air pressure to a point at which the ice shifts from a solid to a gas! The ice cream is placed in a vacuum chamber and frozen so the water crystallizes. The air pressure is the lowered creating a vacuum, then heat is applied vaporizing the ice. Finally a freezing coil traps the vaporized water!

When my twin sister and I tasted this ice cream we were rather susceptible to whether it would taste anything like ice cream! We were so surprised that it did! As soon as you leave it on your tongue it seems to liquids into a cream, with sweet flavorings. It is very clear when you eat it that it is supposed to be the strawberry, vanilla or chocolate ice cream yet is much sweeter and fake flavored. Yet I'm sure it makes a delightfully tasty treat in the space station!

Find astronaut ice cream here: http://tinyurl.com/q2v39tu

I know this blog has been a bit random but I thought I would share my massive geeky side with you and that it was just interesting!

Katie's Spring Favorites!

Hello Wonderful Followers,

As spring is finally here in all its full glory and I've been doing some shopping and just getting out all my spring clothes and make up so I thought I would share some of my spring favorites!

1) Bright Nail Varnish Colours!

Ok as it is spring, all the flowers and colours all come out as the leaves grow again etc... So I like to mirror this in my nails! So yes bright nail varnishes are great! Here are some of my favorites, some are older however none are brand new so I'm not sure which are still available. But here is the list of what is on the photo:

Left to Right:  Prickley Pear (Barry M Gelly), Chemeleon Pink (Barry M Chameleon), Retro Pink (Barry M), Coral (Barry M), Psychdellic Sister (Urban Decay), Tangerine (Barry M), Little Duck (Tanya Burr), Greenberry (Barry M Gelly).

2)  Big Fluttery Eye Lashes!

Lately I have been going out a lot, due to friends birthday parties, cream teas, nights out clubbing or just a date night with Sam. While doing my make up I've loved doing my eye lashes with Benefits They're Real mascara! This seems to make my lashes 10 times as long and make my eyes look so big. This just reminds me of butterflies bit fluttery wings so yeah big eyes lashes for the spring time!

3) My New bag!

I have been looking at getting this bag for ages, it is an online exclusive at New look so the only place you can get it is Here. It is just a simple mink coloured backpack with think straps and some metal and croc print detailing. I thinks its lovely as I have recently been to London and in the summer I'm traveling around the Med for a week so a lot of sight seeing will be done. having a back pack means i can carry more and this one was cute!

4) Light Coloured Jeans!

I'm a massive fan of skinny jeans they are perfect for spring in the UK because its not as hot as everywhere else. So I feel one way to turn skinny jeans more summery is to wear light coloured jeans these seem to brighten up a whole outfit and makes me feel springy!
This is my newest pair, which you can find at Topshop.

5) Dresses!

So lately I've been in to really cute day dresses, usually ones i can wear with black tights as it is not that warm here are a couple of the dresses I'm really liking to wear lately! The orange one is the newest and my favorite from Primark, and the Black one with white daisy was from new look which I can't find on the website I need to go get more of them!

6) Sandals & Ballet Pumps

I always am a big fan of boots and conserve in the Autumn/Winter however as it's getting warmer and I'm going out more, I've been really enjoying wearing these flats! Both of these are from last year so may not still be available but may give you idea for other shoes!

7) Cute Animal Socks!

So for Easter my Auntie brought me a pack of socks, and they had really cute animals of with ears. Earlier this week while wearing a pair I realised how happy they made me so yeah cute animal socks always a pick me up! These ones were from F&F at Tesco however I cannot find them on the website sorry guys!

8) Flower Garland Head Band

My lovely sister Emily picked this up for me from Clarie's yesterday! Its a bit Bohemian and hippy I feel however it does seem to look cute, and turn and every day hair style it to something a little prettier!

Thank you for Emily for helping me take the photos, check out her blog here.
That's everything guys, sorry everything isn't brand new I've been busy with revision so not been shopping that much but I hope that isn't too much of an issue! I hope you all have a great start to Spring and had a lovely Easter, see you next week!

Anniversary Trip to London & Meeting Carrie

On Friday my twin sister and I took my parents for a day out in London for their 25th wedding anniversary! Instead of writing a big long boring blog about what we did I though I would just put up a massive collage of photo's from thought out the day!

So here we go...

Me and Mum (left) and Emily and Dad (right) at having breakfast!

Rainbow of M&M's and a periodic table too! A little geeky but I loved it!

A few of the photos we took in Harrods! How beautiful are the flowers in the cosmetic hall? And yes they were selling painted boiled eggs! I don'd like boiled eggs but I thought these were really pretty!

2 Photos from Convent Garden! If you've not had a Ben's Cookies yet, you are missing out big style! I has a chocolate orange one it was delicious!

Dinner! We went to Zizi's for dinner which was very yummy! Anyone who love Italian food should try here!

Our little trip to China Town, never had been before but it was really interesting with a wide variety of random foods.

Finally we gave Mum and Dad the biggest surprise of the whole day and took them to see their favorite musical Les Miserables! No word of a lie this was absolutely fantastic can not sing the praises of this musical loud enough even if it did make me cry a few times. On top of all this Carrie Fletcher from "itswaypastmybedtime" was playing Eponine and she was amazing to! We also took a sneaky trip around to the back door and met her afterwards! She was lovely and patient!

So overall my parents and I had a wonderful day! If you can go see my twin sister Emily's blog or  I highly recommended Carrie's Youtube Channel, where she often just sits with a mug of tea and chats like she is your best friend which I really enjoy watching so go check her out!

My Dinner Diary

Hello to all my wonderful followers!

This week is going to be something slightly different! I don't know whether I have told you this yet but I am off to University in September (fingers-crossed) to study Dietetics. Yes, I did just see you screw up your face and think what even is that? Has she made that up? Well no I haven't it is the study of diet and food and how it can with help illnesses, and will lead me to become a Dietitian within the NHS! I think this is exciting but I bet some of you begging me to shut up and stop being a massive geek.

So anyway on with the important business, after that tedious link this weeks Blog is all about... you guessed it FOOD! I love food thees days and find it really interesting on a hobby basis of cooking and enjoying nice food to a more nutritional and health basis. either way food is a massive parts of  all our lives and when we know that our dinner is something tasty the day seems to go much better (well mine does any way)!

So this week I'm giving you an insight in to a week of my dinners, and hopefully your are as nosy as me an will enjoy this.

Monday: Fishcakes

My 1st dinner of the week was one of my own ideas created with Emily. So with all honesty i didn't make the fish cakes the were brought frozen, they are smoked haddock and cape hape fishcakes with cheddar cheese and dijion mustard and a sweet mustard sauce! They were gorgeous! We served them with Emily's home made chilli-powder wedges, salad and sweet corn! This dinner was a light which was great for the heavy long day I had Monday!

Tuesday: Bacon & Tomato Pasta

Tuesdays' dinner had to be very quick. So we made pasta with; bacon, onions, peppers, chopped tomatoes, sweetcorn and spinach all in a Tomato and Pancetta stir in sauce! It may not be the most exciting dinner but it is pretty tasty! It is a great quick options when you don't have a lot of time!

Wednesday: Oyster and Spring Onion Chicken Stir-Fry

So for my mid-week dinner I went for an oriental option! This is one of mine and Emily's favorites! It has stir-fried chicken, onions and peppers, all mixed into a Oyster and Spring Onion sauce and some sweetcorn. This was served with egg noodles! It is just a tasty alternative to the Chinese take away and much healthier too!
Disclaimer: I don't eat with chopsticks they were just for decoration!

Thursday: Sausages and Mash

Thursdays dinner is one of my feel good favorites and was perfect as I had had a stressful and upsetting day! However sausages with Mum's creamy mash, tasty onions, sweetcorn and carrots coverts in yummy thick gravy was absolute perfection! It is like having a hug from the inside, and wouldn't be half the dish with out the onions they are my favorite!

Friday: Noodles!

As I was going to a party later on the Friday night, and was staying at my aunties we ate dinner at her house before we went. As she is the best she got us a takeaway from the best noodle place in Stratford! THE NOODLE BOX! I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the food from there tastes! So I will tell you what we had going from left to right of the picture.

On the very left was chow mien noodles, with duck and ho-sin sauce. Next to that was some type of spicy chicken wings which were delicious! Then there is vermicelli noodles and chicken with sweet and sour sauce. On the end are crispy noodles with pork and a Malaysian chilli sauce! At the front is a pot of my favorite ever soup: Chicken and sweetcorn honestly the best soup ever! Lastly there is a honey and peach bubble tea which I thought was very odd and the tapioca balls were like frog spawn! However Emily said the tea was nice!

Basically over this week I hope I have maybe opened your eyes to different meals you can try and make at home! Or if your like me and just want to be nosy as see what other people like to eat I hope I've left you nosy in on my dinners.

A Good Turn Everyday

"A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn everyday"

Ok this may be the Brownie Guide law that I promised to at the age of 7. However it has been an important reminder to be about the way I would like to live my life.

Carrying on with Girl Guiding, from attending my first brownie meeting at two weeks old to taking my adult leader promise in January Guiding has been a huge part of my life! I've met great friends through guiding, been on international camps (another one this summer) and just had some amazing experiences I wouldn't of had without it! It has also been a great reminder of how to live well.

For thoose who don't know Girl Guiding UK is the largest female organisation in the UK, and is the British version of USA's Girl Scouts. By sticking to the Brownie guide law written above I feel my life is much more worthwhile at times.

Doing a kind thing for some one every day sounds like it would be difficult but its really not asking a lot! From sending a motivational text to a friend who has been feeling down latley, to helping a sibling making a bed, but picking something up for some one who has dropped it, it can make a huge difference to that persons day!

One good turn I did the other week has really stick in my brian, I was at the cash point with Sam and as we went to draw our money out I noticed £60 sat in the maschine. I saw the girl who used it last just walking away with her two friends, and were catting away. All of a usden I found my seld calling them and running over to them with the money. Not only is having that confidence so out of character, it would of been so easy for me to keep it and say tnothing. It just made me realise that doing something nice is so easy just not to bother with, but you would want someone else to put the effort in for you, wouldn't you?

So whether you help a stranger in the street or just your Mum I promise you it will make you feel so much better and will make the person's day better. So I challage you you this week to go out of your way to do a good turn everyday, see if it makes a difference at all!
